The most popular cyclosportive in Italy is finally coming: the 2016 edition of the Granfondo Tre Valli by Gist, indeed, will be held on the 3rd of April.
There is no better way to open the cycling season than taking part in the Gran Fondo Tre Valli, a mountain bike race that owes part of its success to a route that is technically complete and at the same time conceived to be suitable for all cyclists, no matter their level of preparation.
The route, which includes 18km of uphill and 15 downhill, provides a maximum altitude of 781 meters asl (Monte Ferrara) and a minimum altitude of 139 meters (Mezzane di Sotto), with an average altitude of 406 meters above sea level and an altitude of 1290 meters. The road is mostly dirt, the streets are wide and well-trod, and there are also some single tracks.
A perfect route, in conclusion, to test your abilities facing a real race, which is not out of reach.
A picturesque setting
However, it is not only the fascination of the challenge, innate for every cyclists, to make the Granfondo Tre Valli such a long-awaited event; a plus to the event is also given by the setting where it takes place: the route, indeed, includes many picturesque places, like Val d’Illasi, Val Tamigna and Valle di Mezzane.
Team Cup: the cyclosportive for teams
Like every year, the Granfondo Tre Valli will have special consideration for teams and clubs, which will have the chance to benefit from the team area for free. Starting from this year, moreover, the teams will have the possibility to take part in the Tre Valli Team Contest and fight for the top a special chart, the Team Cup: in particular, the first 20 teams with the biggest number of members that cross the finish line will be awarded.
Both teams and individual participants will be awarded during the official prize-giving ceremony, which will take part in the Auditorium in Tregnano.
